Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director -Interior Design.

The mission of Real Estate Development and Facilities (RED+F) is to plan, develop, operate and maintain the campus of the NYU Langone Health and provide the foundation for its growth and success in the future. RED+F provides strategic campus planning and project development services, including architectural studies, programming, design, construction and associated infrastructure and technological upgrades, for both new structures and renovations to existing structures on the NYU Langone Health campus. RED+F also operates and manages all facilities, infrastructure and related support services across the enterprise.
RED+F is composed of the Real Estate, Housing, Planning & Project Development, Facilities Operations & Management, Design Studio, Finance & Administration, Campus Security, Environmental Services, Environmental Health & Safety, Radiation Safety and Clinical Engineering divisions.

Reporting to NYU Langone Health's Sr. Director of Design, the Director of Interior Design will work to create and maintain the NYULH design aesthetic across all areas of the enterprise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee team members within the Interiors Group in NYC or Long Island
  • Oversee the expanding NYULH interior design portfolio as it relates to space layout, finishes and furniture.
  • Oversee providing furniture budgets for all capital projects.
  • Manage and oversee the selection, procurement and installation of furniture throughout the NYULH enterprise.
  • Oversee the furniture repair and replacement process.
  • Oversee the work of interior design consultants on capital projects as it relates to furniture and finishes.
  • Responsibility for overseeing all in-house interiors projects, including the selection, presentation and specification of interior furniture and finishes.
  • Oversee updating relevant interior design sections of the RED+F Design Guidelines.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining and educating staff at RED+F on policies and procedures of the Design Studio.
  • Work collaboratively with the Interiors team of other campuses, the NYULH ergonomics team, Sourcing Department and Project Support Office as it relates to furniture selection and procurement.
  • Remain current on improvements in interior design of healthcare environments including changes in legislation and regulations.
  • Keep up to date on the introduction of new and improved furniture and finishes in the healthcare industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in Interior Healthcare design.
  • Bachelors in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office, Power Point, Photoshop.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.
  • Certification in ASID, IIDA, NCIDQ a plus

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $146,384.38 - $206,323.64 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
