Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), the Associate Health and Safety Specialist for Radiation Safety provides technical and advisory support services for the University radiation safety program and other University wide program areas, which may include chemical safety, biological safety, occupational safety, and industrial hygiene, waste management, and other safety related programs. Provides support to ensure compliance with applicable standards, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Required Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in a related field of science
* Three (3) years experience in operational health physics, biology, chemistry, industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety or related field.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite programs.
*Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent listening skills.
*Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
*Must be able to move freely in small and large spaces, lift heavy objects over twenty-five lbs. and wear respiratory protective devices.
*Strong attention to detail.
*Demonstrated ability to prioritize well and focus on completion of tasks while under the stress of a demanding work schedule.

A criminal background check with FBI fingerprinting is required for this role.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
