Senior Roadway/Highway Project Engineer

STV is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Highway Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams in the successful delivery of large-scale roadway/highway design and alternate delivery projects in the Central Texas area. This position also involves serving as Client Manager assisting with Business Development efforts to win new work and expand our client base within our Texas Transportation division.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with other market leaders to identify and pursue new business opportunities, execute strategic plans, and foster strategic relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners
  • Coordinating with marketing and technical professionals to guide the preparation of proposals and presentation materials
  • Participating in interviews and presentations to the client for pursuits and projects
  • Serving as Client Service Team leader and pursuit champion, assisting with business development, building client relationships and pursuit efforts for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects
  • Leading internal business development meetings to present new opportunities and discuss pursuit strategies
  • Initiating and maintaining contact with key clients to establish and strengthen business relationships
  • Preparing fee proposals, participating in negotiations with clients, and reviewing contracts on behalf of the firm as necessary
  • Serving as the primary client liaison and managing project teams to successfully deliver projects within the established schedules
  • Overseeing project staff and participating in recruitment, hiring, development, and retention activities
  • Projects range from planning and schematic design through PS&E design and construction phase support
  • Follow through STV's established quality control and quality assurance procedures to perform quality control checks and ensure design plans implement required design standards and specifications
  • Track project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely completion of projects within budget
  • Participate in STV's established mentorship program acting as a mentor to one of STV's junior staff
  • Participating in industry conferences and events to promote STV and expand our network of clients and teaming partners

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in TX, or ability to obtain, is required
  • Strong client relationships and experience working with TxDOT and other regional transportation agencies
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant design and project management experience on large-scale highway and transportation infrastructure projects
  • Strong local municipal experience is desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work within diverse teams
  • Active membership and participation in professional societies is encouraged

Compensation Range:

$125,724.10 - $167,632.13
