SALARY $90,356.11 POSITION SUMMARY Under direction, supports talent management initiatives and enhancements-including training and performance management / coaching-by conducting internal research, evaluating trends, and executing strategic plans. In addition, develops and maintains talent analytic reports and dashboards using data visualization tools, analyzes employee and survey data to generate meaningful metrics, and leads projects that streamline analytic processes for strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains talent analytic reports.
- Generate standard reports and interactive dashboards summarizing employee data (e.g., workforce, survey, and assessments) for review by executives, managers, internal clients, and other stakeholders.
- Use data analytics and data visualization software to analyze and report conclusions.
- Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users.
- Disseminate information regarding tools, reports, or metadata enhancements.
- Support talent management initiatives such as training, performance management / coaching, and employee selection.
- Conducts internal research on talent and organizational needs, identifying opportunities for programs.
- Executes strategic plans and recommends talent management improvements, including training initiatives.
- Evaluates technology trends to identify future processes and projects, considering tools for improved training delivery and program management.
- Analyzes industry trends with business strategy implications.
- Supports functions such as job analysis, survey and assessment development, and performance management.
- Develops talent metrics and analyzes data for internal clients and Department projects/processes.
- Analyzes employee data such as employee assessments /psychometrics, surveys, and workforce data for employee selection, performance management, and other talent management processes.
- Develops meaningful talent/employee metrics that result in organizational improvements.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
- Tracks information gathered from interviews, assessments, surveys, job analyses.
- Cleans and aggregates data from multiple data sources.
- Provides recommendations to departments based on analysis. Works with departments to conduct analyses and develop information to guide strategic decision-making.
- Improves analytic processes and leads various projects with departments.
- Create and maintain business intelligence tools, systems, databases, spreadsheets, dashboards, and methods.
- Creates workflows to automatically generate reporting and streamline team, employee, and applicant processes.
- Develops tailored solutions (e.g., Power Apps) to enhance program and departmental performance.
- Collects and integrates data from multiple sources (e.g., AWS, SQL servers, API calls from vendors, etc.)
- Identifies and monitors project deliverables, scope, plan, issues, risks, and milestones.
- Maintain documents, templates, or other reusable assets.
- Assists clients with understanding and using analytics, reports, and talent processes/projects.
- Works with internal clients and department leaders to assess human capital, talent performance, organizational capability, culture, etc., and recommend appropriate programs and interventions.
- Prepares and presents recommendations/solutions for department's issues and questions.
- Interprets analytics/reporting for clients, translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used.
- On-going oversight and support to internal clients to ensure measures are effective and useful.
- Identify or monitor current and potential internal clients
- Performs related duties as assigned.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to this position are the following jobs: Job Title None CHALLENGES
- Synthesizing large amounts of data into meaningful results from numerous sources.
- Presenting and explaining complex, technical subject matter to a non-technical audience.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Industrial-Organizational Psychology preferred.
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience with statistical software packages and/or coding languages (e.g., SPSS, R, SQL, etc.)
- Experience communicating/presenting complex research, talent management techniques, or data/analytics is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of data analysis techniques
- Working knowledge of parametric and non-parametric statistics
- Working knowledge of one or more mainstream programming and statistical languages such as Python or R
- Working knowledge of database management/interface/query, analysis, and presentation software: PowerBI, PowerPoint, SQL, and Excel.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- General office environment.
- Required to travel to various CTA field locations and transit property locations.
- Subject to normal garage/shop hazards such as noise, dust, grease, moving vehicles, etc.
- Subject to existing weather conditions when working in the field.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND MATERIALS UTILIZED
- Standard office equipment.
- Personal computer and related software (MS Office, Outlook, Teams, PowerBI, Power Apps, Phyton or R, Jamovi, SPSS, Excel Data Analysis, SurveyMonkey, etc).
Additional Details
Employees and/or union members will be given priority consideration in the hiring process, per the applicable labor contracts.
Final salary will be determined in part by the qualifications of the selected candidate and may be higher or lower than target.
