Overview

From design to fabrication, we develop and deploy complex imagers for space, scientific imaging, commercial applications, spectroscopy and more.

The Center for Advanced Imaging is searching for a Cleanroom Technician to join their team. The Technician will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the development of custom image sensor devices, modules, and systems for numerous commercial, spacecraft, and government applications. The ideal candidate will have advanced soldering and assembly skills, be comfortable working with a microscope for extended periods of time, have excellent dexterity, and experience handling micro components and assemblies.

The Technician will work on-site at our Princeton, NJ office and will need to have flexibility to potentially work 2nd shift.



Responsibilities

    Production environment manufacturing high quality advanced imaging products.
  • Assemble surface mount components into board assemblies in accordance with specifications and drawings.
  • Solder TE Cooers to heat exchanger.
  • Assemble Flex Circuits on Detector Assemblies
  • Work with engineering when board rework is needed during development, replacement of surface mount components.
  • Build Cable Assemblies in accordance with specifications or drawings.
  • Die and Wafer handling, sorting and pick and place.
  • Wafer Dicing
  • Wafer Cleaning
  • Wire Bonding Detector Assemblies
  • Setup and maintenance of existing and new equipment used in the manufacturing cleanroom area.


Qualifications

  • HS grad or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Due to government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen
  • Knowledge of crimp technology used in cable and connector assemblies.
  • Knowledge of MIL and IPC standards for electronic assemblies, ISO9001 certified facility.
  • Advanced soldering skills are necessary and will include hot plate / hot air assisted assembly techniques.
  • Experience with Configuration management tools and processes as well as Excel and word.
  • Experience with safe use and disposal of basic chemicals used in electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with epoxy mixing and dispensing equipment.
  • Experience with ESD Control procedures and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components, circuits and test and measurement equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies that include liquid cooled TE cooler assemblies used in detector packaging.
  • Must be willing to work in cleanroom environment, class 10000, and class 100 hoods.

The salary range is: $18.36-$24.33/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
