Position Overview: The primary focus of this role will be to lead the strategic vision, development, and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within PRIME. This role involves managing GIS staff, overseeing data governance, integrating GIS technology with business objectives, and ensuring the efficient delivery of GIS services and solutions to stakeholders. Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute GIS strategies that align with organizational goals. Provide leadership and direction to the GIS team.
- Oversee the collection, storage, integration, and security of GIS data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and data governance policies.
- Evaluate emerging GIS technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Lead GIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate GIS with business applications and enterprise systems.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify GIS needs and develop solutions that support business operations.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations concerning GIS data and technology.
- Develop and manage the GIS department budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Mentor GIS staff, promote professional development, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Generate reports, maps, and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- GISP (Certified GIS Professional) required. Esri certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in GIS, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), spatial analysis, remote sensing, and database management.
- Experience managing large-scale GIS projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex spatial data and provide strategic insights.
