The laboratory of Levi N. Kanu seeks an undergraduate student intern to assist with a study on clinical trial enrollment disparities in keratoconus, a rare corneal disease that affects 1 in 200 people. Although translational and clinical research in keratoconus is being performed throughout the United States, nonwhite patients are underrepresented, which is likely to exacerbate existing health care disparities.

Responsibilities: Collating and analyzing data obtained from patient records or clinical databases on existing clinical trials for keratoconus. Compiling data from a forthcoming questionnaire based on the previous analysis. Performing literature reviews. The intern will meet with the project investigators on a regular basis to discuss findings and progress on data analysis. Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements: Enrollment in an accredited college or university. Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and communication skills. Ability to work independently under the guidance of Dr. Kanu or his designee. Adherence to Mass General Brigham standards of privacy and confidentiality.
