Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst Engineer to design, analyze, and enhance Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) algorithms and flight software for complex systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced education (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field, combined with extensive knowledge in GN&C systems, algorithm verification, and flight dynamics. This role will require a keen understanding of system performance analysis, simulation techniques, and algorithm optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Analyze and design GN&C algorithms and flight software for aerospace systems.
- Assess the performance of control, navigation, and guidance systems, ensuring robust functionality and optimization.
- Verify and validate GN&C algorithms, ensuring they meet defined requirements.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of flight dynamics and trajectory dispersions, utilizing time-domain simulations, covariance-based methods, and Monte Carlo dispersed analysis.
- Develop and implement simulations to tune and improve system performance.
- Document analysis results, including findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of GN&C systems into broader aerospace projects.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, including experience with Bus objects, S-functions, and embedded MATLAB.
- Solid knowledge of GN&C algorithm development, simulation modeling techniques, and performance optimization.
- Background in dynamics and linear analysis of aircraft, spacecraft, and missile systems, focusing on both inner and outer loop performance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with Monte Carlo analysis and other advanced statistical methods for system performance assessment is a plus.
- Familiarity with aerospace control systems and their integration into complex systems is strongly preferred.
