Staff Accountant
Dallas, TX- Hybrid- 4 days onsite (Outside of close)

Compensation: $70k-$75k (depending on experience)

Position Summary:
One of Vaco's clients is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience with basic accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. Experience in multi-unit operations, particularly in retail, recreation, or property sectors, is a plus. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic and growing environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Basic Accounting Entries: Assist in booking basic journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions in the general ledger.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial data.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Multi-Unit Accounting: Support accounting operations for multi-unit businesses, such as retail, recreation, or property, ensuring proper allocation and reporting of revenue and expenses across various locations.
  • Expense Tracking: Help track and categorize operating expenses, ensuring proper allocation to the correct cost centers and accurate expense recognition.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and provide support for variance analysis, identifying trends and discrepancies.
  • Internal Controls: Assist in maintaining internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide support on various ad-hoc accounting projects, as needed, to ensure smooth operations within the finance department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-unit environment such as retail, recreation, or property management.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with multi-unit operational accounting and understanding of allocation and reporting across different locations or business units.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various teams across the organization.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
