Senior Analyst, SBS Global Reporting & Analytics

The senior analyst of Sherwin Business Services (SBS) Global Reporting & Analytics is responsible for completing reporting projects received through the SBS continuous improvement intake form and other project tasks as assigned by their manager. This includes, but is not limited to, report builds and enhancements, data processing automations, report maintenance reviews, and troubleshooting support for reporting projects for all SBS departments (accounts payable, travel, supplier management, indirect procurement, general accounting, HR shared services, payroll, workforce management, leave of absence, etc.). The senior analyst will assist in projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities. The senior analyst will use various tools to provide analytics that will drive operational savings through data-led transformation programs.

This role will be responsible for mentoring analysts in junior level positions on the team.

A strong analytical and curious mind is required and the ability to handle data from multiple complex sources. Awareness of new techniques and tools are required as we constantly look to become more automated and efficient.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Analytics reporting



  • Work with SBS Reporting and Analytics team to follow their guidelines to ensure standardized data sets, reports and metrics are used which will ensure accuracy and completeness of reports published for team consumption.
  • Design and develop accurate dashboards, reports, and visual aids to inform and influence the decisions of internal clients and business leaders
  • Work within reporting & analytics tools used by SBS Reporting and Analytics team for projects. This includes tools such as Tableau, Dataiku, Snowflake, and more.
  • Review and monitor data and report for exception criteria
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests as necessary
  • Maintain 'how-to-do' notes and detailed project documentation


Drive continuous improvement



  • Drive successful completion of data insight initiatives. Partner with SBS Reporting and Analytics team to leverage tools which provide insights for SBS departments in order to drive operational excellence and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and implement effective tools to drive efficient and effective reporting
  • Seek opportunities for synergy, improvement, simplification and automation of existing processes and reporting
  • Assist in designing and building of technical processes to address business issues


Understand, enhance, and promote internal controls



  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data and reporting. Understand the current control environment and promote standard controls
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to strengthen policies, processes, and procedures amongst business partners


Assist with organizational changes and with future projects:



  • Assist ongoing and future projects including technology implementations, system enhancements/upgrades and control compliance related to initiatives
  • Assist SBS transition program including, but not limited to, acquisitions/divestiture, global footprint expansion, SBS service expansion, etc.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Information Systems


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • 2+ years in Finance areas,
  • 2+ Years with metrics and financial functions.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong data mining, reporting and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong customer service orientation


Preferred:



  • 1-3 years of experience in process improvement experiences and automation
  • Process improvement knowledge
  • Significant experience in accounting, financial shared services, or information systems
  • Strong aptitude with ERP systems, with the ability to promote standard functionality
  • Knowledge of current trends and industry best practices


TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Tableau or Power BI experience
  • SQL experience
  • Microsoft Office tools, (Advanced Excel)
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform consistently, multi-tasking as necessary, and demonstrating good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have an aptitude for understanding technical advancements and implementing new systems and enhancements.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management using strong written and verbal communications.
  • Must demonstrate an aptitude for grasping new technologies and adapting them to S-W business rules
  • Must be able to make logical conclusions based on financial data.

  • Reporting tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, Discoverer, OBIEE
