This Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for all Integrated Data Collection and Analysis Tool (IDCAT) related tasks, including Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) support in the Advanced Qualification program Manual (AQPM). They'll analyze data collected by all principal Flight Safety Programs to share recommendations, support integration of data sources, and support other analytical needs from our Flight Operations (Ops) Safety Teams. This role will play an important part in analyzing Pilot training needs and data in a way that they can develop a cohesive story and message to share with Senior Leadership. - The Integrated Data Analyst serves as a subject matter expert for all Integrated Data Collection and Analysis Tool (IDCAT) related analyses to include Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) support as stated in the Advanced Qualification Program Manual (AQPM). Additional functions include the analysis of data collected by all principal Flight Safety Programs to concise, indicative recommendations via the Data Integration Group (DIG). Further responsibilities include supporting the analytical needs of Flight Ops Safety and performing administrative IDCAT tasks to ensure acceptable data collection, application reliability and user support.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely and correct submission of the monthly FAA reports
- Administer all aspects of the IDCAT application to include user support and feedback monitoring for Flight Instructors/Evaluators during observation data entry into IDCAT
- Support all Integrated Data Collection and Analysis Tool (IDCAT) application related administrative duties including accounts, new classes support etc.
- Download Tableau data to the Southwest Airlines server and populate current dashboards
- Analyze, create and visualize data in Tableau workbooks/dashboards
- Categorize and group Instructor/Evaluator measured items and comments for analysis
- Support IDCAT observation form design and generate/create data collection forms within the application
- Perform daily training data analyses as defined in AC 120-54a and identify gaps of effectiveness in current Flight Ops Training and represent Flight Ops Safety in resolution discussions
- Assist in, and provide analysis support for the quarterly data review of the Data Integration group (DIG) and AQP. Execute and deliver data requests as needed to support the Flight Ops Training (AQP) staff
- Execute IDCAT Inter Rater Reliability data analysis and facilitate IDCAT academic content
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Broad knowledge of database management, analysis of large and complex databases, and data visualization skills required (Tableau, Alteryx etc.)
- Knowledge of integrating qualitative and quantitative datasets
- Intermediate knowledge of statistics and math concepts. Must be detail oriented and have strong research skills
- Knowledge of commercial airline operations and proficient in building trust with all levels of Employees
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in developing presentations and must possess strong writing, speaking and presentation skills
- Excellent partnering, communication, and negotiation skills in working with other Teams and Departments
- Ability to resolve complex problem and perform job duties with minimal supervision
- Ability to adjust to a variety of situations and adopt new approaches and methodologies if necessary in order to effectively meet business objectives
- Ability to be energetic, self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
Experience
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
- Data analysis and visualization, project management
- Tableau data visualization
- Complex dataset analysis
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
- May require extended work hours per Leader's request
- Some business travel based on Company needs
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive market salary from $86,850 to $96,500 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
