Leads the creation and delivery of targeted customer campaigns for respective merchandising business areas, along with company-wide programs. Builds campaigns leveraging traditional and digital communication methods, conducts quality verification processes and monitors the performance to ensure financial targets are achieved. Instrumental in deploying, training, establishing new work processes and leading change as new personalization and engagement software tools are implemented. Responsible for working closely with key partners in Merchandising, Operations, IT to bring deliver new capabilities that results in deeper customer loyalty and meaningful interactions with our Team Members.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Lead the Targeted Campaign Specialists, including strategic partner team members, resources, and indirect cross-functional teams.
  • Build and execute targeted campaigns and personalization programs that successfully drive incremental transactions, profitable sales and long-term customer relationships.
  • Serve as a key leader within a cross functional team deploying new digital technologies, processes, methods and capabilities to deliver personalization throughout the company eco-system.
  • Manage the systems, service providers of our loyalty and communication systems (mPerks).
  • Develop the team competencies required to further advance our digital skill sets and stay current with the ever changing technology space.
  • Participate in the Developing Customer Engagement & Loyalty road maps and plans, including metrics in support of our business and marketing objectives.
  • Develop, manage and report on all department expense and supplemental plans.
  • Work with the analytics team to identify customer segment development and growth areas for growing trips and sales.
  • Work directly with merchandising and operations leadership to achieve business plans and strategic intents.
  • Engage with Meijer CPG partners and vendors to develop key sales & loyalty programs to drive business.
  • Achieve a comprehensive understanding of the business and Meijer customers in order to develop a compelling strategy and concept to build strong relationships with customers and convert them into lifelong, loyal Meijer customers.
  • Create new solutions in the digital communication space to more effectively reach customers.
  • Build, grow and optimize the customer database, drives customer participation in various Meijer programs.
  • Accurately budget and forecast offer redemptions and direct marketing expense.
  • Work with IT department on system development and enhancements (POS, customer programs, web site).

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Retail and / or CPG.
  • 5+ years of experience in Traditional Marketing, Digital, Consumer Technology branding, business, consumer insights preferred.
  • Experienced in working at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of customer data & marketing systems and methods.
  • Advanced insight of critical success factors & KPI's for customer data usage.
  • Fast learner and high performer with a proactive nature and thrives in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task and manage complex programs, conflicting priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Identify and implement areas for improved efficiencies and best practices, coach and develop other specialists on the team when necessary.
  • Able to operate independently without bypassing partner collaboration.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, ability to act in the absence of the Vice President.
  • Proven ability to present, interact and collaborate with all levels of leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead high visibility projects.
  • Collaborate closely with other key business teams (e.g. Marketing, IT, Operations, Merchandising).
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills with an ability to prioritize multiple/competing projects & assignments.
  • Experience developing communications and presenting effectively to all levels of leadership.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Advanced Excel abilities, highly proficient in math.
  • May require limited travel.
  • Strong work ethic complemented by a positive, can do attitude.
  • Business orientation to drive traffic, profits & ROI.
  • Strong written, editing, proofreading and oral communication skills; attention to detail with an ability to meet tight timelines while maintaining accuracy & a positive attitude.
