SUMMARY OF DUTIES

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our cafeteria team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking grill and quick fry items, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cooking: Prepare and cook grill and quick fry items to order, ensuring food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented attractively.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Serving: Serve dishes prepared by other cooks, ensuring portion control and presentation standards are met.
  • Customer Service: Take orders from customers, provide information about menu items, and ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and a harmonious work environment.
  • Cashiering Assistance: Assist with cashiering duties as needed, including handling transactions and providing accurate change.
  • Receiving and Storing Deliveries: Assist with receiving food truck orders and properly storing food items.
  • Dishwashing Assistance: Help with putting away clean dishes and maintaining cleanliness in the dishwashing area.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
  • Manual dexterity for handling kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Color and depth perception.
  • Visual acuity.
  • Ability to read.
  • Tolerance to noise and chemical vapors.

The risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs. Risk category II states employment and procedures that may require exposure.
