General Purpose of Job: Under the direction of the Nursing Resource Manager, the Nursing Resource Supervisor ensures that quality departmental operations occur; supports and carries out the vision of the department; produces excellence; leads by influence; and develops caregivers within the department.Assists in action plan and initiatives for Caregiver engagement, assisting in maintaining a competent workforce, assisting in scheduling, staffing, payroll and other functions necessary to maintain an efficient and effective department. - Assists in communicating shared vision, mission, and values with department Caregivers which motivates others to achieve strategic goals*
- Assists in establishing policies, procedures, and protocols necessary to accomplish daily tasks, processes and department goals.
- Assists in recruitment, selection and retention of caregivers for float Patient Safety Sitters and the Staffing Office. Trains, supervises, counsels, and evaluates caregivers at the direction of the Nursing Staffing Resource Manager. .
- Assists in ensuring appropriate scheduling and staffing of Caregivers according to guidelines.
- Supports a learning environment that is open and respectful, and promotes continuous growth and development.
- Supports appropriate orientation, education, and continued development of caregivers.
- Monitors caregiver performance, providing coaching, recognition, counseling and avenues for improvement as needed.
- Maintains a safe work environment that minimizes work related illness and injury.
- Supervises daily operations of the Staffing Office team and Safety Sitters.
- Ensures Caregivers acquire and maintain necessary skills and performance attributes for professional and personal development needs.
- Assists in planning and conducting departmental meetings.
- Provides support and training related to Kronos scheduling practices. Serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point for problem resolution.
- Maintains relationships between Staffing Office customers both internal and external.
- Assists in managing department operations at the direction of the Manager to ensure framework for optimal staffing, scheduling and payroll.
- Coordinates, with the direction of the Manager, new caregiver orientation, education, and continued professional development activities.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and participates in department Performance Improvement, Corporate Compliance, Patient Satisfaction, Caregiver Engagement initiatives and monthly reporting of key operational information.
- Monitors customer satisfaction, performance improvement and corporate compliance indicators, and key indicators of effectiveness and efficiency to ensure optimal performance.
- Performs other administrative duties as delegated by the manager.

Education |
* Associates degree in business, health care management, or related field and Minimum of 3 (three) years increasing responsibility in a professional setting; OR Bachelor's degree in business, health care management, or related field and Minimum of 1 (one) year increasing responsibility in a professional setting. |
