Basic Function

Provides expertise in vital records protection, retention and business continuity support for archived MRIGlobal records. Performs library related duties and obtains library articles/materials from partnering libraries and alternate resources as needed.

Nature and Scope

This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Records Management. Primary responsibilities involve identifying, capturing, converting, and establishing authorized access to corporate, technical, and administrative vital records. Serves as the primary contact for MRIGlobal offsite records storage vendors and services. Works closely with staff across organizational lines to obtain material and ensure proper handling and disposition of records.

Essential Functions



  • Responds to internal and external audit requests in a timely manner
  • Handles complex library requests by utilizing partnering libraries and other resources to try to obtain material
  • Provides guidance and instruction to MRIGlobal staff in organizing and processing archival records
  • Facilitates records transfer and conversion tasks for inter and intradepartmental records
  • Works on recurring library items such as books, SciFinder billing, memberships etc.
  • Performs backup duties in scanning, electronic transfer, and laboratory notebook tracking
  • Participates in small group orientation and training programs for records and information management
  • Write and edit instructional materials related to MRIGlobal records management operations
  • Establishes efficient and cost-effective methods for unit operations involving commercial offsite storage agreements for MRIGlobal Research Operations and corporate records
  • Ensures the integrity of archived records for the period of retention
  • Distributes newspapers, reports delivery issues and maintains delivery schedules



Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in English, Library Science or a related field plus 1-2 years of relevant experience. Experience may be substituted for degree
  • Ability to occasionally lift records boxes averaging 40 lbs. for processing and shelving, including up and down a library stepladder.
  • Ability to roll 250 lb. wheeled shred bins around the facility
