Overview:

We have an excellent opportunity in our Public | Corporate practice, Minneapolis, MN office, for a detailed orientated and talented Project Manager. We are looking for an individual with great communication and time management skills, experienced in actively directing project teams, and someone looking to take a leadership role in building long-term strategic relationships with clients and partners while advancing HGA's commitment to innovation and design excellence.



In this role you will:

    collaborate with Principal in evaluation of project requirements and helps to negotiate an acceptable owner-architect agreement including the fee, scope, and time schedule;
  1. demonstrate task-focused mastery of project scope, schedule, budget and profitability. Completes projects on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction;
  2. manage a program of multiple projects and associate client relationships effectively;
  3. negotiate critical issues with Owner and Contractor as well as Architects, Engineers and Specialty Consultants within HGA and of other organizations and firms;
  4. supervise the production of architectural construction documents for multiple small renovation projects or a single large project;
  5. lead a full-service architectural and engineering team, using past experience and technical knowledge to efficiently deliver quality documents, specifications, reports and cost estimates, keeping in mind schedules/budgets and provides coaching/communication as appropriate with team leaders and/or team members who are responsible for work flow/timelines, etc.;
  6. develop discipline cost and work-hour budgets for each project and monitors project costs, completion status against budget schedules/timelines;
  7. oversee all correspondence and pertinent documents, making sure they are accurate, signs or obtains signatures and seeks legal counsel as appropriate;
  8. aide principals and practice group leaders in the development of equitable team building;
  9. facilitate the development and integration of sustainable building practices with Project Architects and relevant subject matter experts;
  10. coordinate review and evaluation of contractor bids and works with Principal so that award recommendation can be submitted to owner;
  11. provide day-to-day leadership in the absence of and as delegated by the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader keeping lines of communication open with all office management leaders and assists with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature;
  12. collaborate with Practice Group Leader as requested in the marketing of projects including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews; and
  13. collaborate with junior staff to cultivate a culture of mentorship and trust.


You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • Architectural licensure required
  • LEED or similar accreditation preferred
  • 7-10 years of professional experience honed on increasingly more complex projects
  • Experience with one or more of the following project types is desired - hospitality, mixed-use, residential, science/technology, and/or workplace
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients and lead discussions on project budgets and management of project delivery
  • Proficiency with industry accepted software and Microsoft Office products is needed
  • Proficiency with Architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and the Adobe suite is beneficial
  • Experience with Project Management software such as Vision, Vantagepoint, and Microsoft Project is beneficial


Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range $94,500 - $113,700
