Position Overview
The University of Kansas Special Education Department invites applications for part-time lecturer positions as course instructors in American Sign Language (ASL). Positions vary and are dependent upon the need, if any, each semester. Lecturers are untenured, non-tenure-track members of the faculty. The primary role is instruction. The appointment dates will vary based on the program needs. The courses for this program will be taught at the KU Campus in Lawrence, KS.
The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Job Description Teach a specified number of ASL undergraduate/graduate courses per semester for the Special Education American Sign Language Program. Courses for which lecturers would be needed are ASL 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Required Qualifications Evaluation of the following requirements will be made through (1) descriptions of work experience and educational experiences in letter of application, (2) record of accomplishments and productivity addressed in resume, and (3) information provided from professional references.
