Job Purpose

The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for engaging with direct suppliers in North America on Honda's sustainability initiatives. These initiatives include overall sustainability education, collection and reduction of environmental footprint, and human rights due diligence; all of which have significant impact on HDMA brand and stakeholder influences. Roles includes development of SA (Situation Analysis) through understanding of Honda's Global and North American supply base, manufacturing process, and critical sustainability elements. Considering input from key stakeholders, propose sustainability improvements, supplier engagement and industry benchmarking.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for assessing and evaluating suppliers' sustainability data that is timely and accurate while building supplier relationships and monitoring industry trends. Report plan vs actual.
  • Establish, and achieve logical supplier sustainability targets through supplier education and negotiation, Manage achievement of annual mass production supplier CO2 data through a third-party platform and supplier engagement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely budget tracking and processing to ensure efficient payment to third party vendors.
  • Gain consensus on sustainability initiatives through supplier selection, managing multiple projects through correlation activity with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively support business need projects.
  • Create and implement continuous improvement activities to support Honda lean practices.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Supply Chain, or Business. If no degree equivalent experience required.
  • 0-3 Years of Sustainability, Purchasing, Sales.
  • Successful completion of BAS level or equivalent years of experience in industry.
  • Ability to negotiate based on logic, manage supplier relationships, work in teams to build consensus, solve problems, manage projects.

Decisions Expected

  • Make recommendations for supplier sustainability program improvements for all NA suppliers.
  • Support stainability strategy recommendations to target achievement through logic.
  • Collaborate on supplier consensus with internal and external shareholders.
  • Perform analysis through Supplier Sustainability Scorecard to education, guide, and evaluate sustainability as part of the sourcing decision.
  • Lead/influence supplier sustainability meetings with all suppliers and give support for improvement.
  • Initiate continuous improvement decisions that impact the organization and support lean principles.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work environment (60% in office, 40% remote).
  • Open office environment with moderate level of noise and activity.
  • Some travel required (approx. 10%).
  • Regular occurrence of communicating and presenting information in groups for evaluation purposes.
