The Department of Psychiatry is the second largest UCSF department at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). It encompasses inpatient, outpatient and community-based services that provide mental health and crisis care for underserved communities. The Division of Trauma Recovery Services (DTRS) in the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) provides integrative and multidisciplinary behavioral health services for victims of trauma and violence. The National Alliance of Trauma Recovery Centers (NATRC) is a program of the Department of Psychiatry's Division of Trauma Recovery Services. NATRC is a national organization which exists to remove barriers to care and transform services for survivors of violent crime, especially those from underserved communities and those impacted by systemic inequities.

One of the ways that NATRC does this is by supporting replication of the Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) model.
