Summary:
Under the direction of a Cardiologist, the Cardiac Sonographer II role performs ultrasound procedures for use in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures and/or may be assigned duties as preceptor in areas of specific competence.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate of an approved School of Sonography or equivalent combination of training and experience as a registered Cardiac Sonographer through American Registry of Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  2. License/Certifications: Currently registered as a Cardiac Sonographer through the ARDMS or CCI required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: Previous clinical experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Cardiac Sonographer I role.
