Job Description

Summary of Position

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to internal and external stakeholders in all areas of the Human Resources department, including student employment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the operational and administrative aspects of the employment life-cycle, ranging from posting jobs and recruitment support to onboarding and status changes up through termination of employment.
  • Manage all onboarding responsibilities for new faculty, staff and student employees.
  • Support hiring managers in navigating student employment processes, including position creation, hiring workflows, managing hours allocations,and compliance with university policies.
  • Process student employment records and required forms, ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
  • Serve as a resource for student employment-related inquiries from students and hiring managers.
  • Coordinate and assist in facilitating bi-weekly new employee and benefits orientation sessions.
  • In collaboration with the HR team, serve as the first point of contact for general questions and concerns. Triage more complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Perform simple and complex data entry and reporting in HRIS and other HR databases.
  • Manage confidential filing and archiving systems to ensure legal and policy compliance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed on a variety of tasks, projects and initiatives.
  • May be assigned as a recruiter for entry-level and service positions.
  • Order office supplies and basic troubleshooting/maintenance of HR office equipment.
  • Maintain Human Resources website, job boards and social media accounts.
  • All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Typical working environment is an office setting. Sedentary work for long periods of time.
  • This position works in the office Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
  • Working environment has frequent interruptions and walk-in traffic.
  • Regular computer and phone use.
    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Two (2) years of relevant administrative experience required, including at least one year of administrative experience working in Human Resources.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Bachelors degree OR an additional four (4) years of relevant administrative experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience with recruitment processes, such as candidate screening and participating in the interview process.
    • Previous experience coordinating benefits and payroll functions.
    • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with little supervision.

    Compensation and Benefits at Augsburg

    • The compensation range is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour, DOQ.
