Duke Energy's Talent Acquisition team has an exciting opportunity for an initiative-taking and professional Senior Recruiter to support our Plant Operations & Corporate functions.

The mission of our Talent Acquisition team is to attract top talent to Duke Energy and build a workforce that reflects the communities we serve. The ideal candidate will have good relationship management and recruiting skills along with effective communication skills. This Senior Corporate Recruiter drives the recruiting process in a timely and cost-effective manner. In addition, this recruiter must demonstrate a proven commitment to provide qualified talent pools, a positive experience for the hiring manager and candidate, and displays behaviors and attitudes consistent with Duke Energy's core values.This role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement. It will be critical for this individual to stay current with industry trends, developments and changes especially related to a high-level talent pool.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with other Recruiters and Hiring Managers to develop a strategic recruiting plan to attract top industry talent
  • Build candidate database through effective sourcing and recruiting
  • Provide consultation to hiring managers and other stakeholders in alignment with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations as well as departmental processes
  • Conduct intake sessions with hiring managers for the creation of job requisitions
  • Create and complete requisitions in Workday Applicant Tracking System in alignment with internal processes
  • Source & Pre-screen candidates identified for jobs through internal and external tools and resources, social media, job boards, etc.
  • Extend verbal offers to candidates and negotiate, as needed
  • Work effectively with assigned Recruiting Coordinator to ensure that all steps within the hiring and onboarding processes are completed accurately and timely

Working Conditions

  • This position will be based at the Charlotte, NC Headquarters
  • Hybrid - three days in office, Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to their assigned Duke Energy facility.
  • Performs work in a general office environment

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • In addition to required degree, five (5) years minimum of related work experience
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree AND five (5) years minimum of related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND nine (9) years minimum related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other related discipline
  • Previous experience recruiting mid-level leaders or advanced technical professionals
  • Seven (7) or more years of full life-cycle corporate or third-party, agency recruiting experience
  • Experience managing requisitions within an Applicant Tracking System
  • High level user of Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Candidate sourcing experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other professional networking sites
  • Experience using CRMs for candidate pipelining
  • Effective planning and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team setting/collaborative environment
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate & influence
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple assignments and display strong organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
  • Understanding of HR compliance, EEOC, OFCCP, USERRA, VETS4212, and other federal contractor programs
