Phillips 20 is a 20-bed adult Medical unit located in Boston, MA, USA. The unit is devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care. The unit is in search of a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a per diem Patient Care Assistant (PCA).
What are we looking for?
Assisting the healthcare team, the PCA promotes a safe and caring environment for patients under the mentorship of an RN. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers. Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.
Schedule
Days (7a-7p, 7a-3:30p) and Nights (11p-7a, 7p-7a) Inclusive of weekends and holidays

Required: Must haverecent experience,and/ortraining,in clinical patient care. Preferred:Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire,OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at leastone semester of patient care rotationscompleted, at time of hire.
