* candidates can be remote but Chicago preferred - They should know the out-of-the-box EWM capabilities and understand the capabilities of S4 to help with adoption. Additionally, the candidate should be able to speak about technology beyond SAP and operate outside of the SAP space to design an end-to-end system. - Candidates are falling short they are either a sap specialist without broad technology knowledge or a technology specialist who does not understand SAP and business process. 90% of candidates have struggled to answer questions outside of SAP - Need knowledge of SAP business technology platform concepts, especially related to Hana, such as CDS and new capabilities - Candidates should be a continuous learner This is a Sr. technical leader position that will work in tandem with our Warehouse OT Architect, engineering teams, and Sr. business leaders to sets the technology direction within Grainger's North American Supply Chain. The candidate should have: Good communication and reasoning skills. Can talk about patterns in complex technology problems. The candidate also needs to have a mix of Techno and Functional skills applicable to Warehouse or manufacturing operations The Sr. Solutions Architect (Supply Chain) is a sr. technical leader that sets the technology direction within Grainger's North American Supply Chain. We are looking for individuals that can solve challenging business problems through technology, engineering, and leadership. This role collaborates with business functions, product/portfolio managers, other Architects, and technology delivery teams to identify, plan, design, and lead implementation of technology solutions within the order fulfilment, warehouse operations and yard management domains. This is a highly technical role requiring deep functional familiarity with the SAP ecosystem, building custom solutions in a cloud environment and integrations with warehouse automation OT technologies. You will * Gain a deep understanding of Grainger's Supply Chain business process and how they are implemented in Grainger's systems. * Advise on project and\or technical product ideas, determining their feasibility, conceptual solution options, impacts to people\process\technology and high-level costs. * Create end to end architecture designs (conceptual, logical, and physical) for the proposed projects\technical products ensuring that those designs meet business requirements and are scalable, fault tolerant, secure, performant and follow Grainger's architecture standards. * Present those designs to Grainger's Technical Architecture Governance Committee. * Advise software delivery teams on technical solution details and architecture best practices. * Maintain domain level architecture documentation including C4 diagrams, technology roadmaps and data products. * Present domain level technology roadmaps and key architecture tradeoffs to the CIO's leadership team. * Contribute to Architecture Governance practices including creation of technology standards and patterns. * Research current and emerging technologies, and propose their adoption as needed. *Skills* Architecture, Solution architecture, Aws, Enterprise architecture, Cloud, Design *Additional Skills & Qualifications* I am looking for a Solutions Architect in the Logistics space that can pair SAP EWM and the below technologies to develop end to then solutions in the warehouse. This person does not need to be an expert in warehouse automation OT expert as we rely on another Architect for that. But familiarity on how to integrate IT with OT is a plus. Here is a list of technical skills outside of SAP I am looking for: * Understanding of roles of WMS/WES/WCS, warehouse automation & yard management systems and how to design end to end process across them. * WMS - Warehouse Management System * WES - Warehouse Execution System * WCS - warehouse controls system * Familiarity with how EWM and SAP ADS connect to RF devices and printers. Familiarity with printer protocols is a plus. * Familiarity with SAP and non-SAP Integrations: in addition to the SAP ecosystem (RFC, IDOCS, BAPI, PI/PO, BTP Integration Suite), integration with 3rd parties via APIs and event-based integration. * Working experience designing custom applications in the cloud utilizing containers e.g Kubernetes - AWS preferred but Azure is ok. Does not necessarily needs to be able to build it, but needs to design it. * Basics security concepts e.g. OAuth, basic vs. token authentication, SSO, .... understanding of the roles of firewalls * Familiarity with some modern Analytic platforms and concepts: Snowflake & Databricks ecosystem, how to extract data from SAP system to S3, and modern analytic concepts like data products, medallion architecture. Understanding of basic concepts of machine learning and operations research and how they could apply to warehouse operations is a plus. *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $143000.00 - $238400.00/yr. oSalary range between $145K and $239K - looking towards midpoint plus of this range oBonus: Target is 20% of the salary with variability +/- based on personal and company performance. In the past, Grainger paid between 70% and up to 150+% of the target depending on the year. Past performance is not a guarantee of the future performance. o401K company contribution of 6% regardless of how much individual puts in. oGrainger Stock: Target $15K in Grainger Stock Long Term incentive (matures over few years).
