Job Title: Data Team Functional Lead
Clearance Required: Secret
Work Location: Onsite - Washington DC

Alpha Omega is seeking a seasoned Data Team Functional Lead with experience managing data, teams, and associated tools. As a Data Team Functional Lead, you will lead a team of data analysts, DBAs, and cloud engineers who are responsible for coordinating multiple workstreams in support of thousands of users on the agency's secure networks. You will provide management, process, oversight, and ongoing support of multiple databases and platforms. You will bring a demonstrated track record of success leading Data Teams in large enterprise setting as well as critical skills in developing partnerships, modeling behaviors, and improving team capabilities and leading in a fluid and rapidly changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Manages all contractor personnel within the Data functional area, coordinating with government management counterparts
  • Possesses strong personnel and project management and cross-functional team skills in addition to strong technical expertise in knowledge management and data/database management to provide oversight and guidance for all data-related Contractor services and support
  • Helps design and stand-up new Data functional area in alignment with the client's vision and objectives
  • Build a bridge between the client and customers who consume data
  • The ability to translate stakeholder business needs to help identify the most relevant projects to execute and leads the team toward completion of those initiatives
  • Responsible for coordinating all contractor workstreams and responsibilities in this Data functional area, leads contractor personnel
  • Possesses strong project management and people management skills in addition to strong technical expertise in data management
  • Participate in the creation and update of customer data management strategy
  • Optimizing the data strategy and finding innovative and creative ways to use data and share it with various stakeholder groups
  • Asking strategic questions reflecting an understanding of a business problem and crafting how data models can help accordingly.
  • Manage a team of resources engaged in the provisioning of application and middleware technology services by establishing and managing work priorities and standards, providing advice and consultation on the more complex and technical issues, managing project deliverables, and taking corrective action in resolving issues with project team performance as required
  • Collaborate with DevOps, IT Infrastructure, and development teams
  • Support migration of on-premises applications to Cloud Infrastructure and Platform services as needed.
  • Communicate with executive leadership on progress serving as the Data Team lead to present recommendations and solutions to resolve or mitigate technical challenges
  • Experienced with Databases, Data Integration Tools, libraries, DevOps pipelines, and business intelligence tools


Required Qualifications:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field


Experience/Skills:



  • 10 years' experience in data management


  • Experience in the federal contracting industry
  • Experience migrating and/or integrating services in AWS & Azure cloud/hybrid cloud
  • Ability to work independently, think strategically and proven diagnostic ability are critical.
  • Change agent, demonstrating leadership driving continual improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $115,626-$200,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
