Job Summary

Under general direction from the VCCT center manager, the Clinical Trials Coordinator Floor Supervisor will oversee the daily clinical operations and flooxr activities of clinical trials involving client-owned companion animals at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH). This position will supervise and support clinical trial coordinators, ensuring high-quality veterinary patient care, technical services, compliance with study protocols, sample acquisition and processing, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines. The Floor Supervisor will assess daily staffing needs, coordinate clinical trial visit schedules, provide advanced technical support during trial procedures, monitor employee performance, and offer training and mentorship to staff. This position requires strong veterinary technical skills, leadership, and organizational abilities to ensure clinical trials are conducted smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 1 year of experience in a supervisory or lead role in a veterinary setting, including performance management and scheduling.
  • Experience working in a veterinary hospital setting, coordinating multiple tasks, and ensuring protocol compliance.
  • Demonstrated veterinary technical skills with companion animals (dogs and cats), including phlebotomy, catheter placement, sample collection, medication administration, sedation, and patient monitoring.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage a dynamic work environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Computer proficiency with electronic medical records and data management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
  • Experience conducting clinical trials and clinical research or familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Experience training or mentoring veterinary staff or students, including proficiency with clinical trial data platforms (e.g., REDCap, StudyPages).
  • Knowledge of IACUC procedures, veterinary medical terminology, and UC Davis hospital protocols.
