Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented EVSE Conformance Hardware Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware testing, validation, and compliance of electric vehicle charging stations. This role involves conducting conformance tests, analyzing test results, troubleshooting hardware/firmware/software issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC, ISO, UL, UL, and SAE.

Role Responsibilities:



  • Conduct hardware conformance testing for EVSE products, including Level 1, Level 2, and DC fast chargers.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate EVSE compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform functional, interoperability, and safety testing for EVSE hardware and communication protocols.
  • Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, signal generators, and environmental chambers for testing and analysis.
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues related to power electronics, connectors, and communication interfaces (CAN, PLC, Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
  • Document test procedures, results, and defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution.
  • Work with vendors, industry organizations and certification bodies for EVSE conformance validation.
  • Stay updated with evolving EVSE technologies, standards, and testing methodologies.

Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.


Skills:



  • Experience in hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting of power electronics or EVSE systems.
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, load banks, and PLC communication analyzers.
  • Understanding of high-voltage systems, power conversion, and signal integrity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with automated test scripts (Python, LabVIEW, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Knowledge of EV charging standards (IEC 61851, ISO 15118, SAE 1772, UL 2202, etc.).
  • Experience working in an EV, automotive, charge point operator (CPO) or power electronics industry.
  • Knowledge of grid integration, cybersecurity in EVSE, and smart charging technologies.
  • Experience with environmental testing (temperature, humidity, vibration) is a plus.
  • Certification experience/exposure with organizations such as UL, CSA, TUV, or Intertek.
