Position Summary



The Sr Compensation Analyst supports all aspects of compensation management, ensuring accurate data management, compliance and timely reporting. They lead salary surveys, benchmarking and market analysis activities, manage compensation tools, support compensation cycles and contribute to strategic initiatives. The Sr Compensation Analyst leads job evaluations and related processes and works closely with the Compensation & Benefits Director to maintain competitive and equitable pay practices across the organization.



Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities



Job Evaluations & Descriptions




  • Conduct job evaluations and intake conversations, managing the process of gathering data and drafting job descriptions in collaboration with HRBPs and managers.
  • Ensure job descriptions accurately reflect job duties, align with organizational structures and support competitive market positioning.
  • Share best practices and make recommendations regarding job structures and hierarchies that support long-term growth and business success.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and department heads to assess FLSA classifications and ensure compliance.
  • Manage and educate others on the job description workflow, expectations and action items.



Salary Surveys & Benchmarking




  • Lead the salary survey process, including calendar management, data collection, job matching, data submission and analysis of survey results.
  • Provide recommendations based on survey analysis.
  • Research and recommend surveys to fill needs and/or position gaps.
  • Conduct benchmarking, job leveling and make FLSA classification assessments to support market alignment and internal equity.



Data Management, Reporting & Compliance




  • Maintain and update recruitment data tools, job family framework and other compensation tools and resources and recommend new and/or improved efficiencies.
  • Review geo zone assignments annually, making recommendations for updates and structure changes. Research geographic trends as needed.
  • Partner with HRIS Administrator to ensure all job codes, geo zones and related details are accurately maintained in the system.
  • Prepare and distribute total compensation statements annually.
  • Prepare and distribute job and salary change, incentive related and other monthly and quarterly reports to stakeholders. Assist with the preparation of reports and data for compensation committee strategic review and initiatives.
  • Lead market studies, compliance reviews and other compensation related analysis and projects.
  • Perform data analysis to support in-depth compensation reviews and decision making.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pay transparency legislation and trends in compensation administration and make recommendations for compliance and education.



Compensation Planning & Communication




  • Assist with the setup of compensation cycles in HRIS and proactively monitor activities ensuring timely updates and progress through communication with HRBPs.
  • Support HRBPs as a consultative resource for compensation matters and with compensation planning questions or issues.
  • Prepare compensation cycle materials, equity reviews, reporting and related resources.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of STIP and LTIP spreadsheets and materials.
  • Assist with pay philosophy and transparency efforts to inform and educate all levels of the organization.
  • Assist with sourcing and creating educational tools and materials for different employee groups.
  • Make recommendations for streamlining planning processes and improving communications.

Required Education, Experience, Licenses & Technical Competencies




  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field required. Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of experience in compensation administration, HR analytics, or related field required.
  • Compensation or HR certification preferred, such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM or PHR.
  • Thorough understanding of compensation related laws and regulations.
  • Experience working in compensation tools and HRIS systems (Dayforce, Workday, SuccessFactors, etc.) and compensation planning setup and activities.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, specifically v-lookup, pivot tables, and ability to organize reports and information for others to consume and interpret.
  • Experience performing job evaluations with a deep understanding of job structures and hierarchies and the ability to communicate related ideas and make recommendations.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with salary surveys, market analysis and salary benchmarking, and the ability to analyze and interpret results.
  • Experience supporting compensation processes and activities, coordinating sensitive data for reviews and discussion, and making recommendations based on data and calibration methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong math skills and numerical aptitude.
  • Demonstrates the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
  • Commitment to continuing education and keeping current with compensation trends and regulations (pay transparency, FLSA, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.
