We are seeking resumes for an Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor - Regional based out of our Wallula, WA Mill facility.

Description of role:

The Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor - Regional is a Nurse role that serves PCA locations within the Columbia Basin region, working primarily out of the Wallula Mill facility. In addition to developing and administering the Occupational Health Program for PCA Wallula Mill (under the direction of the Mill Health & Safety Manager), the Supervisor will be available to area PCA plants for consultation and support. The Supervisor will also be responsible for providing oversight to all PCA WA locations on Workers' Compensation claims.

Principle Accountabilities:

PCA WALLULA MILL(On-Site Approximately 80%)



  • Provide management of occupational injuries and illnesses (including provision of first aid, nurse triage, referral and ongoing case management), as well as Emergency Services as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with local healthcare facilities/providers to assist with occupational health needs (i.e. injury referrals, medical directives, etc.)
  • Manage administration of occupational health records in accordance with PCA policies and state health privacy laws.
  • Manage respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs, including required fit testing and yearly audiometric testing of all employees.
  • Manage bloodborne pathogens program in accordance with OSHA standard and including provision of required training and management of Hep B vaccination program.
  • Coordinate annual HazVert physicals in accordance with OSHA standard.
  • Manage drug and alcohol testing program under the direction of Mill Human Resources.
  • Manage organization and supply inventory of treatment room and first aid kits; maintain emergency care equipment.
  • Provide/assist with CPR/First Aid training.
  • Conduct new hire orientation related to Health Services.
  • Participate on safety teams, including HazVert, Emergency Response, etc.
  • Recommend and develop programs for employee wellness, disease prevention and detection including integration with existing PCA benefit programs.
  • Review, update, and maintain essential job function reports.



COLUMBIA BASIN PCA PLANTS: RICHLAND & WALLULA(On-Site Approximately 20%)



  • Provide management of occupational injuries and illnesses as needed (including provision of first aid, nurse triage, referral and ongoing case management).
  • Maintain relationships with local healthcare facilities/providers to assist with occupational health needs (i.e. injury referrals, medical directives, etc.)
  • Manage administration of occupational health records in accordance with PCA policies and state health privacy laws.
  • Assist with scheduling and follow up of annual audiometric testing.
  • Recommend and develops programs for employee wellness, disease prevention and detection.
  • Provide additional health & safety services as needed.



ALL PCA WA LOCATIONS (Remotely from Wallula Mill)



  • Provide oversight and assistance on management of all workers' compensation claims.
  • Consult and assist with Occupational Health matters as needed.
  • Utilize corporate task management program to track completion of critical activities.
  • Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a registered nurse in the State of Washington

Must have experience with Workers Compensation, WA L&I, OSHA/WISHA

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field.

A minimum of 3 years occupational health experience.

Experience working in an industrial manufacturing facility.

The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required.

Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR, Council on Accreditation Occupational Hearing Conservation, and NIOSH spirometry certification.

Must be flexible with work hours.

Excellent time management skills required to effectively use time to accomplish required responsibilities.

Must have the ability to set high personal standards of performance and goals, while working under minimal supervision.

Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Pay and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $90-127k.

Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods. Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA's 401k retirement plan at the time of hire. Employees are also eligible for up to 120 hours of vacation (prorated) and eleven (11) paid holidays per calendar year.
