Job Description: Job Summary: The Polysomnographic Technologist performs comprehensive Polysomnographic testing and analysis. This involves polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services and patient care and education. The Polysomnographic Technologist will possess a solid knowledge base in the clinical application of polysomnographic studies. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time. 1. Prepare polysomnographic equipment for studies. 2. Prepare patient for sleep studies, including technical prep and pertinent patient education. 3. Conduct polysomnographic studies: the studies will be artifact free; documentation must include thorough report of significant events, behaviors, and information that may be relevant to the patient's evaluation. 4. Manage paperwork and communication related to studies including correspondence, logs, and files. 5. Assist in training SDC Staff 6. Assist in maintaining supplies. 7. Report equipment needs, including equipment malfunctions. Troubleshoots when necessary. Assist with daily maintenance of equipment. 8. Serve as a technical resource for patients, physicians, and staff. 9. Participate in performance improvement activities. 10. Comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, laws, and requirements of accrediting agencies. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Preferred:
