Oncology RN Navigator

About the Role:

The Oncology RN Navigator plays a crucial role in guiding patients through their cancer care journey, ensuring they receive comprehensive support and resources. This position is responsible for coordinating care, facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers, and addressing any barriers to treatment. The RN Navigator will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans that align with each patient's unique needs. By providing education and emotional support, the Navigator helps patients make informed decisions about their treatment options. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to enhance the patient experience and improve health outcomes in oncology care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current WV Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or Associates of Science in Nursing Degree..
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology or a related field.
• Obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or similar specialty certification.
• Experience in patient navigation or care coordination roles.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare management software.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients diagnosed with cancer, providing guidance and support throughout their treatment process.
• Coordinate appointments, tests, and treatments, ensuring timely access to necessary services and resources.
• Educate patients and their families about cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects, empowering them to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and address any concerns or barriers to care, advocating for the patient's needs within the healthcare system.
