Further information is available at www.newflyer.com. POSITION SUMMARY: To assist the Materials Department to World Class through the coordination of shipping materials. This position is responsible for coordinating all shipping related activities within Materials. The Shipping Coordinator will improve the department and themselves through training and continuing education. WHAT YOU WILL DO: 1. Coordination of the shipping and processing of materials. 2. Drive Past Due demand to zero including PPSO orders 3. Coordinate, assist and monitor to reduce negatives to zero 4. Coordination of all shipping functions including working with all inter-company departments 5. Coordinate and ship non-scanner materials. 6. Research materials issues and define root cause if any shipping variances. 7. Coordination of the bills of lading paperwork process. 8. Coordination of all error lists associated with shipping 9. Coordinate IR lists for all plants 10. Coordinate with logistics all required trucking. 11. Coordination of all assembled items to other New Flyer facilities 12. Prepare and provide regular reporting on all material on special lists (daily) 13. Ensure shipping area has processed timely shipments according to schedule (scorecard) 14. Coordinate all shipping related documents, ensure accuracy of documentation and attached to required materials. 15. Responsible for ensuring compliance with MSDS sheet, customs, Fed Ex/UPS, Proformia and other requirements. 16. Coordination of materials going to suppliers or customers. 17. Attend and participate in departmental tool box meetings 18. Use effective checklists and shortlist to execute job functions. 19. Provide leadership with required weekly operational excellence updates. 20. Maintain appropriate levels required office/shop supplies. 21. Promote and practice effective housekeeping and 5s principles. 22. Assist in ensuring inventory accuracy and work towards the achievement of inventory goals such as timely release of work orders, reduction of obsolete inventory and inventory adjustments, keeping of sub-inventories, and managing uncontrollable items. 23. Assist with MRP, and ensure MRB processes are followed. 24. Assist in the development, communication and deployment of policies, guidelines and tools to ensure success in all processes 25. Assist the materials team in achieving the budget in materials supplies, salary/indirect labor, overtime, and operational expenses. 26. Ensure the accuracy of data entered in the system 27. Drive continuous improvement in the supply base in support of business objectives. 28. Ensure compliance to ISO Procedures, work instructions, and 5 P's and promote continuous improvement within the department 29. Member of the cost reduction team. 30. Maintain a safe work environment; adhere to safety policies, procedures and processes. 31. Other duties as assigned.
