Systems Analyst, Principal Associate (Workday Payroll)

We are hiring a Principal Systems Analyst to support our Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) teams. This role will support the technology that enables payroll processing and time & absence tracking across multiple countries, driving well-managed enhancements. This role enables Capital One to lead the industry in pay accuracy by driving the strategic partnership between HR and technology.

You will be responsible for leading ongoing system requirements management, regression testing, and business process changes, as well as projects related to Workday (US Payroll and Time Tracking), Salesforce, ADP GlobalView (International payroll), and other systems that impact payroll processing. This role will also be responsible for data analysis, driving process improvements, and analyzing system configurations.

In this role, you will gain skills including technical knowledge of systems, product management (prioritizing work and translating requirements between business and tech), data analysis (Excel, Google Sheets, Google Looker, etc.), and project management (JIRA, Google Slides).

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Testing and release lead for Workday releases that impact payroll, absence, and time tracking (including weekly Workday service releases and semi-annual Workday feature releases)

  • Partner within HR Technology (HRIS) and HR Product Management Teams to request changes and regression test system configurations

  • Proactively recommend process improvements to rethink existing configurations and creatively find solutions to unique problems - including finding ways to automate manual work

  • Analyze incident data to identify impacts to our team and make recommendations on resolution and root cause analysis

  • Build and/or maintain tools created outside systems such as Google Apps Script or Excel VBA Macros

  • Enhance and proactively improve configurations from both bug fixes and enhancements, including testing and documentation of changes

  • Point of contact for production support for operation team in issue resolution and troubleshooting

  • May serve as the People Leader to direct reports on the Global PATT Systems Team

  • Maintain open communication with cross-functional and partner teams

  • Special projects and/or other responsibilities as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in information technology or data analytics

  • At least 1 year of Workday configuration or integration experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Workday configuration or Workday integrations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human Resources

  • 2+ years of experience in Systems Analysis, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Compensation, or Finance

  • 2+ years of experience with Google Apps Script or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

  • 2+ years of experience with SaaS configuration

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Richmond, VA: $93,400 - $106,600 for Principal HR Associate

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
