Position Title: Revenue Specialist

Job Description:

Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of the revenue accounting system and processes in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Read and understand customer contracts to understand terms and conditions that impact revenue recognition. Support deal desk in review of customer contracts, amendments, SOW's to ensure GAAP and Company revenue recognition policies are being appropriately applied and documented. Design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency. Work with internal and external stakeholders to establish good relationships. Manage SOX compliance of revenue recognition internal controls. Assess technical accounting considerations for complex, multiple element revenue arrangements. Participate in annual audits and special projects, including adoption of accounting standards that have revenue recognition impact. Serve as a point of contact and SME for management and business partners. Monitor FASB, SEC, and AICPA technical developments and interpret requirements as they pertain to revenue recognition for the company. Coordinate documentation and testing of SOX controls related to revenue. Assist in preparation of financial analysis and reports related to revenue recognition. Identify and articulate complex revenue accounting issues clearly and concisely and prepare revenue recognition positions for internal and external auditor review. Work effectively on cross functional teams and a demonstrated ability to partner with other functions. Position is fixed based in San Jose, CA office; However, telecommuting from a home office location up to four (4) days per week is allowed.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of experience in accounting.

Must have one (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Experience with ASC 606 and revenue recognition

• Experience developing cross functional relationships both within the finance function and the broader organization

• Experience with fundamental accounting skills, including debit and credit, balance sheet account, and income statement account

• Experience in public accounting, mid-to-large sized tech, or high-growth company

• Experience with revenue accounting or month-end close processes

• Experience working with SOX or internal/external auditors

Will accept three (3) years of post-secondary study plus five (5) years of experience in accounting in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of experience in accounting.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm. Salary: $146,040.00/year.
