Job Description
The Application Analyst II functions as a team member providing front line support on information systems technologies which are used across the health system. This position is expected to be show greater independence and is responsible for assisting in providing application(s) configuration support, testing, implementation, and training to enhance clinical, financial and administrative applications, operational efficiencies, patient safety, and departmental workflow needs. This position is expected to mentor other team members and taking active part in leading group discussions. The position is responsible for leading small project teams to complete initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Participates in data collection to support current needs assessment, software configuration and interface design, implementation, testing, support, and reporting.
- Work with clinicians and administrative/revenue cycle staff to design clinical and administrative workflows within applications to gain improved clinical, administrative, or health information management efficiencies, meet quality standards, and improve the patient and provider experience.
- Participates in change management activities to support successful system deployments and enhancements.
- Participates in unit, functional and integrated testing of the software with variety of hardware to ensure that the design objectives are met.
- Provides input into escalation of issues with appropriate internal and/or contracted resources.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of system documentation, end-user training materials, and supports training efforts.
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures in collaboration with clinicians, other team members, and IT leadership.
- Generate reports from various systems to monitor compliance and performance.
- Support and troubleshoot issues with end users through resolution.
- Prepares detailed flowcharts/diagrams to assist with design decisions and problem analysis.
- Actively participates in and sometimes leads team daily management and process improvement activities. Provides assistance and guidance to Application Analyst I team members.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree Computer Information Technology, Other related field Required or
- Three years of related experience maybe considered in lieu of degree Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 3 years Healthcare IT experience Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Working knowledge of EHR, ancillary clinical systems, revenue cycle systems, and HIT.
- Knowledge of integration with ancillary applications such as Laboratory systems and Radiology or PACS systems, and Admitting/Registration, Revenue Cycle, HIM or web/mobile applications.
- General understanding of interfaces, coding standards, and healthcare data standards.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of configuration and training on a major vendor healthcare information system.
- General knowledge of Meaningful Use, PQRS, HEDIS guidelines and requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to perform duties with extreme professionalism with physicians and their staff members while under considerable stress.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in leading projects and teams
