SUMMARY

The Manager of Pharmacy Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for the performance and general operations of the Covetrus GPM Commercial Pharmacy fulfillment facility located in Fort Worth, TX. Our Fort Worth facility fulfills and ships commercial pharmacy orders for pet owners. The Manager of Pharmacy Operations will work collaboratively with the Pharmacist in Charge and the Pharmacy team to manage the day-to-day production activities at the Fort Worth pharmacy facility. The Manager will be responsible for general operations including driving efficiency, controlling cost to serve, and innovation initiatives in workflow automation and quality control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee GPM fulfillment operations to ensure prescription orders are filled, packed, and shipped in a timely manner to meet customer expectations and achieve KPI targets.
  • Drive workflow efficiencies to increase throughput and control cost to serve.
  • Ensuring products are produced in a safe environment for our employees while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
  • Developing and enforcing proper product and work-in-process tracking, movement, product security and compliance with cGMP's, OSHA regulations, applicable laboratory procedures, and State of Maine regulations.
  • Working closely with Covetrus demand planning, supply, and sales teams to forecast production needs and manage our supply chain to ensure timely delivery of our products.
  • Leading and driving continuous improvement, lean operations, quality improvement, and capacity expansion in pharmacy operations.
  • Identifying and developing talent with intent to maximize individual and team effectiveness to meet/exceed company goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline (Pharmacy, Engineering, or Operations) required
  • 5+ years proven operations management and leadership experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Texas Registered Pharmacist license

COMPETENCIES (SKILLS AND ABILITIES)

  • Successful candidates will have proven production and fulfillment experience and success in a pharmaceutical, food, or nutraceutical processing and packaging environments. This position requires high attention to detail, superb team leadership capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced business setting
  • Inherently sound human resource values and problem resolution skills in combination with a history of strong leadership skills and talent development of direct reports
  • Demonstrated success in leading operations to achieve improved performance and profitability
  • Possess the financial acumen to manage, measure, and improve the operation's effectiveness and profitability (controlling cost to serve)
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in continuous improvement. Experience involving Lean Six Sigma and other quality and process improvement initiatives is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in managing and improving operations, employee safety, quality, and packaging for consumers
  • Strong communication skills at every level of the organization
  • Requires ability to operate in a fast-growth environment, and be flexible to take on new and added responsibilities in alignment with our rapidly expanding business needs
