We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Lead Product Designer (L) -Platform Lead to join our Design Practice team supporting the People Team platform. This role is located in New York, NY - Hybrid. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Partner at the leadership level to strategize/develop/implement visual styles that support platform branding to increase user effectiveness.
- Interpret user feedback and insights to improve the user experience.
- Serve as reviewer of usability activities and artifacts to ensure software applications meet customer expectations for use.
- Provide UX expertise to the product definition and evaluation process utilizing multiple sources of information (field work, interviews, internet, intranet, market data/literature).
- Independently perform and lead the creation and updating of user interface and visual design guidelines and standards.
- Advocate the user experience across the firm and facilities training for groups outside the UX team.
- Ensure that the developed/revised product achieves the user's specified goals by establishing user-centered analysis, design, best practices, and standards.
- Contribute to the achievement of area objectives.
- Overall, you will be expected to be highly independent, needing little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Experienced design professional with a full understanding of UX and an area of specialization.
- Experience providing guidance and technical expertise for the most complex user experience activities that include user research and testing, interactive design, and visual design.
- Review documentation of research findings presented to product and development teams, as well as new and modified user personals.
- Participate and provide guidance in the creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications to meet project schedules.
- Synthesize situations and information across multiple factors.
- Seek to build their expertise while applying company policies and procedures in the resolution of a variety of issues.
- Comfortable giving design feedback.
- Able to build good relationships with people on their immediate team and cross-functional teams.
- Know your key stakeholders and peers, with the goal of better understanding the connection of their own work.
- Help organize team process, as well as mentor and train more junior designers.
- Strong communicator that checks for understanding and asks questions to understand others' point of view.
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred,
- 10+ years of experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $113,000 and $221,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
