Manufacturing Manager

Overall Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for all work conducted in the assigned production departments within Bosma Enterprises and will lead a team of supervisors and production employees to ensure that the work is completed accurately and efficiently. Specifically, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the safety of all production employees, the quality and timeliness of all products and services provided to Bosma's customers, and managing production costs including purchasing of raw materials and supplies and ensuring work is being performed efficiently within the assigned production departments

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED and at least two years of supervisory experience is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or blindness/low vision is a plus
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with Bosma production employees and staff, as well as, vendors, customers, and other key contacts outside of the organization
  • Possess a good working knowledge of all aspects of production processes such as automation, inventory management, and quality systems
  • Organized; able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with little or no supervision; must be able to work in various buildings/locations
  • Effective leader and decision maker; leads by example
  • Able to develop and encourage others to reach their potential by helping them recognize opportunities to continuously improve through 1-1 coaching, small/large group meetings, and through project implementation teams
  • Excellent computer skills and a good working knowledge, or the ability to acquire a good working knowledge of current software programs such as Sales Force and Microsoft Office
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Production staff in assigned areas, Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands and company goals
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment; confront unsafe actions; take necessary actions to eliminate all safety hazards and housekeeping issues within all assigned production areas
  • Coordinate with the warehouse, Quality team, and Production Supervisors to ensure that products and services are delivered in a timely manner that meets the expectations of Bosma's customers
  • Manage within established budget; ensure that production personnel and equipment are scheduled and optimized to meet daily production requirements in a cost-effective manner
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Manager to manage inventory levels in assigned areas and oversee purchasing of all raw materials and supplies; ensure that best practices are followed to allow for Bosma to receive the best value in all procurement activities
  • Ensure that the quality of all products and services are monitored to allow for all customer requirements to be met
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Work in multiple buildings and in various locations dependent upon business needs and strategies
  • Responsible for adherence to all Bosma Enterprises policies and procedures. Assure all practices are in compliance with regulatory bodies and current with most recent trends
  • Work to develop others within the organization by actively encouraging them to realize their abilities and potential; be open to input and suggestions from other Bosma employees
  • Positively resolve issues within Bosma's production departments by using an effective means of communication
  • Collaborate with other staff members in the areas of programs, finance, and sales to accomplish tasks, complete projects, and to ensure the manufacturing operations are aligned with overall business goals
  • Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned
