Overview

Job Summary

The Network Security Director will lead the strategic development and operational management of the organization's network security infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring robust defense mechanisms are in place to protect organizational data, systems, and infrastructure from cyber threats. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Director will collaborate cross-functionally to develop comprehensive security policies, enhance network defenses, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

Network Security Strategy Development:

  • Define and execute a comprehensive network security strategy to safeguard digital assets, aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of network security technologies and solutions.

Policy and Compliance Management:

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Conduct periodic compliance assessments, audits, and vulnerability analyses to ensure adherence to policies and identify security gaps.

Incident Detection and Response:

  • Oversee network security monitoring solutions to swiftly detect, analyze, and respond to network-based threats and incidents.
  • Coordinate closely with the Incident Response team to manage and mitigate network related cybersecurity incidents.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing network security team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, proactive threat mitigation, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with IT, business units, legal, compliance, and external security communities to promote best practices in network security.
  • Regularly communicate network security posture and risks to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Technology and Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and optimize network security solutions including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), VPNs, and endpoint protection.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovations to maintain and enhance the organization's security posture.

Networking/ Key relationships

To be determined based on all cybersecurity program needs, to include interactions with:

  • All Corporate functions.
  • Communication with product development, operations, or manufacturing disciplines.
  • Coordination/ communication with executive management teams.
Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years experience in network security, cybersecurity operations, or related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing cybersecurity teams and implementing network security frameworks.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of network security principles, protocols, standards, and technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with demonstrated success in managing technical teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Travel requirements: Less than 25% of the time.
