As a Software Engineer, you will execute the product vision, optimize the user experience and functionality of the platform, and coordinate and lead internal and external consulting engineering personnel. Your experience in working with technology, insurance services, and building e-commerce platforms for external users will drive success for our new venture. In this role, you should have a keen understanding of the operational requirements and insights into how to make things user-friendly, functional, and scalable. Through these responsibilities you will bring new life to an organization's health plan and be a key driver in our internal efficiency. Requirements



  • Ownership:Apassion and willingness to own work from inception through delivery. Ownership includes contributing tothedesign, developmentand testing of simple solutions to complicated problems. You must champion your team's work
  • Communication:Ability to effectivelywrite and verballycommunicate technical information
  • Testing:Experience with modern code-firstautomatedtest practices (e.g., unit tests, API testing, penetration testing, load testing). We will go fast with small teams
  • Growth mindset:We do not expect expertise ineverything,but we believe great employees can learn almost anything
  • Experience with systems languages (e.g., C#, Java, TypeScript, Go, Rust, C++, Ruby)and other commonly used technology stacks
  • 1+ years of relevant software industry experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related software coding experience
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL)


Preferences



  • Experience designing and building a full-stack software solution
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience integrating with external APIs
  • Experience in software development in a general-purpose programming language
  • Experience with data structures or algorithms gathered from a data structures or algorithms class, course projects, research, individual projects, internships, or other practical experience inside or outside of school or work (including open-source hobby coding)
  • Experience with fast paced SaaS environment

Location

This position is based out of the Milliman office in Omaha, Nebraska. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.
