POSITION SUMMARY:

The Microbiologist will be responsible for maintaining audit-ready status and ensuring compliance for the laboratory. This role will provide leadership to the Chemists and Microbiologists, levels I and II through testing, validation and training.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Ensure testing compliance meets the requirements of ISO, USP, CFT, cGMP, and GLP, in the Micro-laboratory
  • Maintain the Micro-lab in Audit Ready mode.
  • Provide accurate product, raw material and Environmental monitoring microanalysis data.
  • Provide advanced trouble shooting skills, related to Micro incidents, to support continuous production.
  • Regularly perform analytical laboratory analyses and report results to upper management when requested.
  • Ensure daily or weekly maintenance of all Micro-laboratory instrumentation and media usage dates.
  • Be the SME for all Micro-laboratory instrumentation and for aseptic training of Lab and Plant personnel.
  • Provide Microbiological instrumentation training to all Chemists and Microbiologists, levels I and II.
  • Provide training to all Chemists and Microbiologists on new and existing revisions to Lab WI and Test Methods.
  • Review Micro results for other Microbiologists, to ensure RFT on results & report trends to Lab Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)



  • BS/BA degree in Chemistry A.C.S., BS degree in Chemistry (Pre-med), BS degree in Biology discipline, BS degree in Physics
  • Relevant experience required to qualify for the position.
  • 5+ years in an FDA or Clinical QC Lab w/ Instrumentation, 10+ years in a Biology/Microbiology QC Lab w/ Instrumentation
