POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Government Relations Intern to support our team in monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, tracking municipal processes, and contributing to our public affairs efforts. This position will work closely with our team to support entitlements, legislative tracking, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Monitor and track timelines for internal and external to support project development
  • Track bill filing, committee hearings, and legislative session deadlines, focusing on housing-related legislation Dominium supports or opposes
  • Develop and maintain a municipal contacts and rezoning database for entitlements and permitting
  • Track municipal elections and assess potential impacts on development projects
  • Research the political landscape and council connections to inform strategy and recommend political and charitable contributions
  • Assist in planning property and construction events with stakeholders, working with the events team to coordinate outreach efforts
  • Compile and repurpose internal communications materials for stakeholder newsletters and external communications
  • Set up entitlements project timelines and calendar deadlines in Workfront based on Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSAs)
  • Coordinate outreach and entitlements planning by liaising with the deal team


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Interest in housing policy, real estate development, and legislative processes.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex policy topics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with project management tools (e.g., Workfront) is a plus.
