JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Altoona Athletics is seeking candidates for the job of Head Men's and Women's Cross County Coach and future Track and Field* coach. This position reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and operation of the College's NCAA Division III varsity intercollegiate men's and women's Cross Country and Track and Field program, including all aspects of coaching, recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, fundraising and managing the intercollegiate program within the policies and principals of Penn State University and the NCAA. In addition to the duties for the position, the successful incumbent is required to possess the following: ability to physically demonstrate complex movements and skills required;have demonstrated success in a cross country/track and field program at the college or an equivalently high level, including evidence of successful student retention and team success; demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate and develop Division III student athletes; knowledge of the sport and a verifiable ability to teach both fundamentals and strategies of the sport are necessary; working knowledge of NCAA rules, demonstrated commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy; have a reputation for integrity. Penn State Altoona is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). *T/F will be introduced at a later date.In the interim, XC Coach will also be responsible for operating live stats at home sporting events, updating the Athletics website with results/stats/info from home and away sporting events, post content to various social media platforms. Education and Experience: This position requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records checkwill be required in addition to the three publicly available clearances of PA State Criminal, DHS Child Abuse, and FBI.
