Student Success and Well-Being - Office of Student Financial Assistance:

The Office of Student Financial Assistance, a unit within Student Success and Well-Being, is dedicated to supporting UCF's mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.

The Opportunity:

UCF's Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Financial Assistance is currently accepting applications for a Financial Aid Coordinator I to join their team. This position is responsible for the administration of the Bright Futures Scholarship Program and other state grant programs.

Responsibilities:

• Manages the State of Florida on-line reporting system for Bright Futures and other state programs.

• Acts as the liaison to the State Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance.

• Evaluates and monitors Bright Futures award adjustments within PeopleSoft.

• Reconciles accounts and prepares refunds for Bright Futures and other state programs.

• Counsels students and parents regarding state programs, reviews and process forms.

• Presents state program appeals to the scholarship committee.

• Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process.

• Analyses and evaluates students' financial needs.

• Advises on availability and sources of financial assistance including Pell Grant, campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs.

• Interprets to students the policies, the processes, and the regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid program.

• Participates in outreach activities and presentation of financial aid information to groups of students, parents, high school counselors, and/or the general public in workshops or training sessions.

• Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

• Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in Excel.

• Knowledge of basic financial aid program requirements.

• Ability to counsel and advise students.

• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
