Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Graduate Intern for Campus Life provides and supports student development, student employment, leadership, and other initiatives within the Student Involvement and Leadership unit of the department of Campus Life. The intern will work with the Assistant Director of Facilities to develop a comprehensive assessment plan for the Campus Life Student Employee program including student satisfaction, learning outcomes, and work-based learning goals achievement assessments. The intern will also assist with the program review of our current Registered Student Organization program including staffing, program offerings, support structures, and policy review with benchmarking from other comparable schools.
Functional Responsibilities:
- The Graduate Intern will develop a comprehensive assessment plan for the Campus Life student employee program.
- The Graduate Intern will participate in the program review process for the Registered Student Organization program.
- The Graduate Intern will further develop facilitation skills through the active participation and facilitation of leadership workshops.
- The Graduate Intern will shadow Campus Life department director staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of the department and its programmatic functions.
- *The Graduate Intern will participate in UNCW first-year orientation sessions to gain a better understanding of the division of Student Affairs and shadow Campus Life departmental staff during their orientation sessions and parent/student interactions.

- Demonstrates leadership and organization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of constituents
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Ability to think creatively and develop new initiatives
- Desire to work in a very fast-paced, deadline-driven office environment
- Must be a registered graduate degree-seeking student
