Position Summary |
The Social/Clinical Research Assistant (RA) will support clinical and research activities led by Drs. Laura Milko and Jonathan Berg. This role involves helping coordinate research teams within the Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen) and Age-Based Genomic Screening (
ABGS) projects. Tasks include scheduling meetings, drafting emails, keeping track of project updates, and helping create and edit research materials like protocols and presentations.
The RA will primarily work with Dr. Milko on the
ABGS project. A major part of this role involves community outreach acting as a point of contact between the research team and our Community Research Board and other partner organizations. The RA will help plan and prepare for public genetics education events, including making materials like flyers and newsletters, and attending events about once a month (occasionally on a weekend day), as part of the regular 40-hour workweek.
The RA will also learn how to manage the
ABGS website and handle data collected through surveys, using tools like Qualtrics and REDCap.
When the
ABGS pilot launches in summer 2025, the RA will support clinical coordination, helping manage genetic samples and guide participants through the consent process. Other tasks will include recruiting and enrolling participants, working with clinic staff, collecting and entering survey data, tracking incentives, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and is well-documented.
For the ClinGen project, the RA will support working groups by organizing meeting logistics, taking notes, helping with presentations and spreadsheets, and staying in touch with team members and project leaders. |
