Responsibilities

    Ensure the weekly approval and posting of employee time-sheets by internal deadline and provide quality control review of approved time-sheets.
  • Through coordination with Human Resources, establish/maintain employee records related to payroll; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to company policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
  • Submit bi-weekly payroll to third party payroll processing firm by deadlines to ensure timely pay biweekly.
  • Prepare requests for the transmission of non-tax payments to third parties (401k, HSA, FSA, garnishments, etc.)
  • Work with accounting team on preparation of payroll entries.
  • Support employee questions related to pay, deductions and vacation balances.
  • Keeps abreast of payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws.
  • Ensure proper pay and taxation of any special benefits such as moving, tuition, benefits, etc.
  • Register the company for withholding, unemployment, local taxes, etc. in any new states as needed.
  • Complete requests from regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Ensure timely filing by third party provider of all tax filings including annual W2s and 1095c.
  • Support accounting team in processing employee expense reports.
  • Support annual audits (401k, Workers Comp, etc.).
  • Ensure cross-training on critical payroll functions.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration/Finance required, Accounting degree preferred.
  • 3+ plus years in a Payroll position performing all payroll functions; three years additional payroll office experience in lieu of Associates degree.
  • Certified Payroll Professional credentials.
  • Multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
  • Ceridian Dayforce desired. Knowlede of BST is strong plus.
