JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Pennsylvania State University Libraries is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a combination of systems administration experience and application development capabilities to serve as a DevOps Engineer. The DevOps Engineer will work within a team environment, exploring and implementing technology that serves the needs of the University and University Libraries. This is an opportunity to grow your skillset, be an active voice, and contribute to leading edge technology implementations at scale. We support the University Libraries broadly to bolster the strategic initiatives of discovery, access, and preservation, as well as advancing research at Penn State. Some example services include our online catalog, open data and open access repositories, electronic theses and dissertation system, and the libraries' website. This position will actively work on automation, integration, performance, and to operationally enhance our discovery, access, and repository services. Working both individually and collaboratively in a team environment and utilizing time management skills will be essential as the DevOps Engineer completes this position's responsibilities, which include but are not limited to: All Phases of Systems Development

The DevOps Engineer will receive support and training from their supervisor for professional development. This role will explore and implement emerging technologies, as well as present areas of growth and process improvements to their team. Education and Experience: This position will be filled at the level of Advanced Professional or Senior Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. The Advanced Professional level requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The location of this position is flexible and can operate fully remote within the United States, fully in-person at the University Park Campus, or in a hybrid model of both in-person and remote.
