Demand Planner Senior

Position Description

Develops and presents the unconstrained demand plan in accordance with the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process calendar. Uses sales history and demand planning software to generate statistical models that predict future demand.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develops demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of the demand planning function
  2. Reviews historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepares forecast data, develops statistical forecast models and evaluates forecast results
  3. Coordinates cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refines the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  4. Identifies gaps to the Annual Operating Plan and impacts of internal change, competitor dynamics and other external factors that may impact demand
  5. Provides input regarding inventory strategies to the Supply Planning Organization
  6. Documents and retains history of planning assumptions
  7. Develops metrics to monitor forecast errors at all levels of the process and ensures root-cause analysis and corrective actions are completed
  8. Facilitates a monthly operational demand forecast planning process for multiple business units
  9. Understands how environmental factors, market dynamics, competitors and internal programs or overrides generate the need to adjust the mathematical forecast
  10. Performs some lead responsibilities which may include: training, assigning and/or reviewing work, providing guidance and overseeing work flow of unit
  11. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to present in front of groups of people
  • Ability to work with multiple business functions and find balance in conflicting priorities
  • Advanced analytical and statistical abilities including concepts such as standard deviation, forecast error, bias, safety stock calculations and mean average percent error (MAPE)
  • Knowledge and experience working in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of five years planning, production planning, forecasting and supply chain analytics
  • Minimum of five years working in planning tools/software
