Associate Colleague and Community Involvement Specialist

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for colleague engagement throughout the site in addition to leading the partnership with the local schools and communities. The Associate Colleague and Community Involvement Specialist will be responsible for monthly colleague activities, increasing colleague engagement, and ensuring colleagues feel they are part of Zoetis through communication and other innovative methods. This role is responsible for creating positive partnerships with businesses and schools in Charles City and neighboring communities to increase brand awareness which in turn will allow for additional hiring capabilities. This role will also be responsible for maintaining a relationship with Corporate Branding colleagues to ensure site specific marketing adheres to all corporate guidelines. This position, working with the Site Lead Admin, will be responsible for site philanthropy decisions to ensure Zoetis recognition is key when determining where site funding is allocated.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure ongoing colleague activities are being delivered by the Activities Committee. Lead marketing of activities, receive colleague feedback, and provide suggestions for improvement to Activities Committee.
  • Gather feedback from LT and other site colleagues on engagement opportunities. Develop and evaluate the effectiveness of colleague recognition programs.
  • Work with survey team and review the effectiveness of the goals that are in place. Gather feedback from LT and other site colleagues about survey results.
  • Design communication platforms and communicate with colleagues through various outlets to meet site needs.
  • Lead marketing efforts for on-site career fairs with input from Corporate Branding and HR.
  • Provide assistance with budgeting, planning, and vendor management.
  • Develop press releases by working with site management and corporate branding.
  • Work with site leadership to promote activities that encourage colleague attendance, i.e. Omelet Day, Huddles, etc.
  • Partner with Training to help incorporate multiple instructional design techniques and principles to support GMP, job skills, and procedural training.
  • Work with EHS to support Wellness Fair once a year or as needed.
  • Partner with site management to effectively create, record, and edit activity for informational videos which are aligned with business goals and strategies.
  • Deliver branding solutions in a manner that engages the community and produces desired outcomes. Partner with site leadership team to ensure volunteer opportunities are reaching the community.
  • Work with site leadership to analyze business needs and develop and monitor external marketing and communication plans.
  • Work with HR to support recruiting efforts at outside job fairs and through networking activities.
  • Lead communication with local schools to provide opportunities for external tours. Followed by partnering with site colleagues to ensure tours are in line with student career paths.
  • Represent Zoetis at school events (elementary through college). Be knowledgeable on Aseptic Techniques, Proper GMPs, Employment Opportunities, and Benefits.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in Communications, Management, Marketing with 2-4 years of experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle changing deadlines.
  • Must have great communication skills to deal with all levels of customers. Must be able to handle negative feedback in a respectful manner.
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive thinking in less than positive environments.
  • Must have the ability to engage others.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and properly handle confidential documents.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be self motivated and willing to learn new and changing responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Video Editing Programs, Canva.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing facility is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires sitting and working on a computer for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
